The ensemble Los Músicos de Su Alteza was founded in 1992 by Luis Antonio González, with the aim of recovering and spreading the most relevant works of the Spanish musical heritage of the baroque period, such as the villancicos, vespers and lamentations by Joseph Ruiz-Samaniego, the opera El robo de Proserpina by Filippo Coppola or the Requiem, the Miserere and the works for the stage by José de Nebra. Los Músicos de Su Alteza gathers singers and instrumentalists with a wide experience in the Spanish and European baroque repertoire. The ensemble’s work is based on rigorous investigation and reflection on the musical sources, and also on different issues, such as the historical conditions of musical practice, the sonorous ideal, the vocal and instrumental technique, or the use of the Ethos’s theories and rhetoric for the composition and performance of the music. Their repertoire includes works from Monteverdi to the last Viennese Classicism.
